Cash Office Associate

Location: 10 Village Center Rd ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for accounting bookwork practices at the store, including reconciliation and recording of drawers, balancing office cash, lottery, and stamps. Assist in research and investigation of any discrepancies and keep management fully informed. Prepare bank deposits or assist with their preparation, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Smiles and greets customers, answers questions, resolves concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner. Follow company policies related to customer check out to increase satisfaction. Assist customer service with answering phone calls with a polite and positive attitude. Use intercom for necessary announcements or pages. Monitor performance of cashiers and lot attendants and provide feedback to management. Follow and enforce all front-end policies and procedures. Participate in training/retraining of front-end associates to ensure high productivity, speed, accuracy, and courtesy. Assist in enforcing and adhering to company policies, procedures, government regulations, and laws. Operate front-end scanning equipment and register; perform checkout procedures, bagging merchandise efficiently, and placing merchandise in customer’s cart. Maintain accuracy during transactions, ensuring correct item charges and appropriate funds collection (cash, checks, electronic payment, coupons). Implement proper security measures and cash drawer accounting procedures to avoid overages/shortages. Follow store and legal guidelines regarding sale of tobacco and alcohol. Maintain knowledge of weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout to answer customer questions. Responsible for general sanitation in the department; follow cleaning schedules and departmental guidelines to keep work areas clean and meet health and OSHA requirements. Dispose of trash properly. Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and superiors. Continuously improve job performance. Utilize all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, company-sponsored footwear, etc. May be called upon to assist in other departments. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) completed or working towards. Experience: No prior experience required. RATE OF PAY AND BENEFITS The hourly rate starts at $15.00 and goes up to $22.00.
