I. Job Summary:
The “DC Connectivity Product Operations Specialist” is responsible for managing operational support activities for Connectivity Products for data center projects excluding Hyperscale customers. This position is responsible for quotation preparation, part number (PN) registration and maintenance, product documentation management, delivery coordination with contract manufacturers (CMs), and logistics management to ensure products are delivered to customers on schedule.
The role works closely with customers, contract manufacturers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to provide accurate product information, coordinate production and shipment schedules, and maintain effective communication throughout the order fulfillment process.
This position requires the use of discretion and independent judgment in evaluating customer requirements, identifying delivery or product data risks, prioritizing work, recommending solutions, and escalating significant issues to management with proposed corrective actions.
II. Duties/Responsibilities:
1.) Product Quotation and Documentation
• Prepare quotations for Connectivity Products supporting non-Hyperscale data center projects.
• Create and maintain product cost estimates based on customer requirements.
• Review customer requirements, product configurations, cost inputs, and lead time assumptions to support accurate quotation decisions.
• Prepare product cut sheets and technical documentation.
• Ensure quotation accuracy and timely response to customer requests.
• Identify quotation risks, non-standard requirements, or cost concerns and recommend appropriate actions to Sales, Product Management, or management.
2.) Part Number (PN) Registration and Product Data Management
• Register new part numbers and maintain existing product master data.
• Manage product information and documentation within internal systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, sales, and product management to ensure data accuracy.
• Maintain revision history and documentation consistency.
• Evaluate product data requirements and resolve data issues that may affect quotation accuracy, production readiness, or customer delivery.
• Recommend improvements to part number creation, documentation control, and product master data processes.
• Work closely with logistics providers to ensure on-time shipment.
• Support resolution of production or supply chain issues affecting customer deliveries.
• Develop and recommend mitigation plans for delivery risks, including schedule adjustments, prioritization, or escalation when necessary.
• Provide management with status updates, business impact assessment, and recommended corrective actions.
3.) Logistics and Shipment Management
• Track shipment status from production through final customer delivery.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with internal departments and external partners.
• Provide timely shipment updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Escalate delivery delays and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.
• Evaluate shipment options, transit timelines, and logistics constraints to support customer commitments and minimize delivery risk.
4.) Customer and Internal Communication
• Serve as the primary point of contact regarding order status and delivery information.
• Communicate schedule changes, shipment updates, and delivery risks to customers.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.
• Ensure timely sharing of critical information among all stakeholders.
• Exercise judgment in determining which issues can be resolved independently and which require management escalation.
5.) Continuous Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve quotation, documentation, and logistics processes.
• Support implementation of process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Participate in projects related to product data management and supply chain optimization.
• Analyze recurring issues and recommend process improvements to improve data accuracy, response time, delivery performance, and customer support.
6.) Reporting
• Prepare reports related to quotations, delivery performance, order status, and logistics activities.
• Support management with administrative reports and KPI tracking as requested.
• Analyze report results, identify trends or risks, and provide recommendations to management.
Support additional business activities and special projects as assigned.
Support cross-functional initiatives related to product operations, process improvement, product data management, or supply chain optimization.
IV. Required Skills/Abilities:
• Basic understanding of fiber optic connectivity products, structured cabling, and data center infrastructure.
• Experience preparing quotations and managing product documentation.
• Knowledge of product master data and part number management.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coordinate with customers, Contract Manufacturers (CMs), logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in evaluating business requirements, delivery risks, product data issues, and recommended corrective actions.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and escalate significant business issues with proposed solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (D365, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Knowledge of international shipping and logistics processes is preferred.
• Ability to proactively identify delivery risks and coordinate mitigation plans
• Preferred Skill: Ability to communicate in Japanese
V. Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Product Management, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Logistics, or related fields.
• Experience supporting data center connectivity products or telecommunications products is preferred.

VII. Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the physical and motor skills typical of an office environment, including, but not limited to: prolonged sitting, working on a computer, using telephones, handheld technology and other office equipment, standing, walking and stooping.
May be occasionally required to lift objects such as files, boxes of paper, office supplies, and computer / office equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to routinely concentrate, focus and read for general understanding and analytical purposes and ability to communicate effectively.
