This is a 13-week contract position.
Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Job Description
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care to critically ill children. This role involves working directly with a diverse group of patients, including those with cardiac conditions, requiring advanced nursing skills and critical thinking.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
- Monitor patient condition and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Manage various critical care equipment and monitor vital signs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
- 2+ years of PICU critical care experience, with a preference for 1 year of cardiac experience.
- Current certifications: BLS and PALS required.
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of central lines.
- Skills in medication administration, telemetry monitoring, and care of ventilated patients.
