Riviera Foot & Ankle Center is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant / Clinical Assistant to join a modern, patient-centered podiatry and sports medicine practice in Santa Barbara. This role is ideal for someone who values patient experience, professionalism, teamwork, and long-term growth within a supportive clinical environment. We are building a boutique-style specialty practice focused on biomechanics, sports medicine, regenerative medicine, and thoughtful patient care, with an emphasis on education, hospitality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

o 1 year of clinical assistant experience or medical assistant certification preferred

o Current CPR certification preferred

o Strong verbal and written English communication skills

o Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required

o Experience with EMR systems preferred

o Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

o Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a clinical setting

o Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented

o Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

o Interest in sports medicine, movement, wellness, and patient education is a plus

o Seeking candidates interested in long-term growth within the practice

Responsibilities

o Prepare patients for examination and treatment.

o Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, and document appropriately in the EMR.

o Prepare, clean, stock, and assist with turnover of exam rooms.

o Perform in-office digital radiographs in accordance with California regulations and practice protocols (training provided as applicable).

o Perform in-office phlebotomy (training provided for eligible team members).

o Assist the physician with clinical procedures including injections, regenerative medicine procedures, dressings, splints, and other patient care support as needed.

o Prepare and assist with musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations and image-guided procedures.

o Clean, sterilize, and prepare instruments in accordance with OSHA and infection control standards.

o Assist with dispensing durable medical equipment (DME), orthotics, braces, walking boots, and provide patient education regarding their use.

o Reinforce physician instructions and provide patient education regarding treatment plans, footwear, exercises, and post-procedure care.

o Maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

o Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.

o Assist with intake, stocking, and organization of medical supplies and DME.

o Participate in maintaining a professional, welcoming, and efficient patient experience.

o Attend staff meetings and contribute positively to team culture.
