Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Onsite | Day, Evening, and Night Shifts Available (12-hour shifts: 7a–7p, 11a–11p, 3p–3a, 7p–7a) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 18-bed Emergency Department serving all age groups with a high-acuity patient population including chest pain, sepsis, stroke, behavioral health, orthopedic injuries, and ENT emergencies
• Administer and monitor common drips including antibiotics, narcotics, anti-emetics, and emergency medications using Alaris IV pumps
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
• Participate in purposeful rounding and utilize TeleHealth resources as part of care delivery
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5 based on acuity; work alongside a Charge Nurse present on every shift
• Complete a facility-required open-book skills assessment during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90%

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and HSS Team (Workplace Violence Training)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI and/or Dignity) are not eligible
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required to maintain contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a certified stroke center or high-acuity emergency environment
• Familiarity with TeleHealth integration within an emergency department setting
• Strong self-starter mentality with a passion for emergency medicine and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
