Logistics Intern

As an intern at Melton Logistics, you’ll gain first-hand knowledge of the inner-workings of the transportation and logistics industries while spending time in each of the four areas of our organization: Business Development, Operations, Carrier Development and Administration. You will have the opportunity to work directly with management on a daily basis while learning the building blocks of a lucrative career. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support to account managers Search for and qualify new leads Recruit, develop and qualify partner carriers Maintain and update database of carriers and accounts Communicate requirements with carriers Match carriers to loads using carrier networks Assist in and perform sales calls Negotiate pricing with carriers Coordinate load dispatch and monitor progress Set up new accounts Other duties as assigned Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Junior or senior level college status with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work in a team oriented environment, make good decisions, and problem solve. Must possess the ability and desire to learn new programs.
