Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

Chattanooga, Tennessee

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend and holiday rotation required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform IV starts, nasogastric tube placement, wound care, and lab draws
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry patients
• Operate and manage unit equipment including wound vacs, heparin drips, IV pumps, bladder scanners, and feeding pumps
• Document patient care accurately using the Editech documentation system
• Deliver positive patient and family experiences, perform service recovery as needed, and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency in IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Ability to float between assigned Medical Surgical units as needed
• Must adhere to dress code: navy scrubs (no fleece or sweatshirts)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Prior experience with Editech or similar electronic documentation systems
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a Medical Surgical setting
