Job Duties for MIG Welder | Industrial position:

• Position, align, and fit wire, plates, pipes, and structural components for assembly

• Use MIG and gas welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld, cut, or trim metal to design specifications and tolerances

• Read and follow blueprints, layouts, and work orders to build parts to print

• Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components and structural products

• Set up layout tables or jigs according to blueprints

• Maintain productivity and quality standards for each job

• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment

• Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective gear

• Operate machinery, forklifts, or assist in training as needed

• Work effectively as part of a two-person team

• Perform other assigned or related tasks as required

Qualifications for MIG Welder | Industrial position:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Vocational or trade school training, or at least six months of on-the-job experience

• Ability to meet or exceed established production standards

• Read, understand, and follow written instructions, blueprints, and basic correspondence

• Write simple reports and communicate effectively in one-on-one or small group settings

• Perform basic math calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

• Visual acuity for close work, distance, color, depth, and focus adjustment

• Ability to stand for entire shift and lift up to 40 lbs regularly and 80 lbs occasionally

Capable of stacking materials overhead and performing physical tasks such as bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching
