Quality Assurance Manager

Unison Systems is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager with a strong background in Construction, Civil Engineering or similar background to join a long term project in the Irvine CA area.

Location : Irvine, CA; onsite

Duration: Full time

Salary: $160,000 to $182,000

Role and Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance Manager
  
• Full-time on-site role in Irvine, CA. Starting August 2026 through 2031
  
• Leads and is responsible for the implementation of the Owners QA program for the project . The QA program will include: daily field inspections of all work performed; specialty inspections; materials testing by both on-site and off-site laboratories; periodic site surveying to verify quantities, etc.
  
• Is responsible for timeliness and quality of all QA reporting , including daily inspection reports, lab results etc. All project documentation will be hosted on Procore.
  
• Manages QA staffing . Uses the construction schedule to plan ahead for staffing needs, shift work and rotations. Coordinates with the Construciton Manager to address any staffing issues well in advance.
  
• Coordinates QA vendors such as laboratories and surveying teams. Identifies and proactively addresses any issues with timeliness or quality of delivery.
  
• Directly manages the resolution all non-conforming work (NCNs) in collaboration with the Contractor, Designer and Owner. Takes a proactive and collaborative approach to developing solutions to keep the work moving forward. Maintains up-to-date NCN log.
  
• Works proactively with the Contractor to implement pre-activity quality meetings with contractor and QA staff to confirm quality requirements and expectations prior to the start of all new activities.
  
• Attends all pertinent construction and project related meetings and is the point person for the client relating to project quality status.
  

Preferred Experience:

• 15+ years of experience
  
• Experience with construction of dams, foundation grouting, earthwork and materials processing, zoned embankments, jack & bore, structural concrete, M/E/I equipment, steel pipelines, water treatment plants.
  
• California public works experience

In addition, this person will be managing the team, a strong awareness of safety, requirements, regulatory agencies, etc. is a strong plus.

Great communication skills, the ability to lead a diverse team, and being the "Point Person" on a high profile project is essential for success.
