Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Join a dynamic team where you'll lead the delivery of exceptional, compassionate patient care in women's health and OB/GYN services. You'll leverage the full nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to craft individualized care plans, mentor team members, and collaborate seamlessly with an integrated healthcare team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Lead and coordinate comprehensive, patient-centered care delivery, demonstrating clinical excellence and compassionate practice in women's health and OB/GYN specialties
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans utilizing advanced assessment and clinical reasoning skills
• Delegate, supervise, and mentor nursing team members, fostering a culture of professional growth and clinical excellence
• Serve as a clinical leader and trusted resource, effectively communicating complex health information to patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain meticulous documentation and comprehensive patient teaching, ensuring continuity of care and patient empowerment
• Demonstrate and maintain current clinical knowledge in women's health and OB/GYN specialties, staying at the forefront of evidence-based practice
• Collaborate with principal investigators on clinical initiatives and research opportunities when appropriate
• Contribute to a culture of quality improvement and patient safety excellence

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in women's health, obstetrics, gynecology, or related ambulatory care setting preferred.
• Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation. Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.
• Advanced clinical assessment and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective, evidence-based nursing care plans.
• Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services with clinical excellence. A
• bility to effectively communicate complex health information with patients, families, and interdisciplinary medical team personnel.
• Proven experience in patient education and health promotion within women's health specialties.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer knowledge with strong keyboarding skills.
• Demonstrated leadership potential or prior experience mentoring and supervising nursing team members.
• Experience collaborating on quality improvement initiatives or clinical research projects preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current, unrestricted licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification per Henry Ford Health policy.
• Specialty certification in women's health nursing, obstetric nursing, or related field preferred.
• Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard (e.g., Oncology Certified Nurse [OCN], Inpatient Obstetric Nurse [RNC-OB]).
