Location Alexandria, LA Unit Profile Unit Name: 6A Med-Surg/Oncology Number of Beds: 31 Patient Ratios: 6:1 Unit Staffing Description: Unit secretaries from 6 am to 10 pm; technicians available on all shifts Documentation System: Meditech Scheduling Requirements: 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends Floating Policy: May float to other Med-Surg and Tele units Experience Requirements: Minimum of one year of acute care experience Qualifications Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS; NIHSS certification preferred Requested Skills: Excellent physical assessment and documentation skills Experience caring for acute care stroke patients Strong time management skills Developed critical thinking skills Knowledge of core measures and prevention of hospital-acquired conditions (HACs) and healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) Advanced Skills: Chemotherapy experience is a plus Dress Code Required uniform includes ceil blue scrubs with a white or ceil blue jacket if worn.
