Programs & Engagement Manager, People Culture and Infrastructure
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. Within the People, Culture and Infrastructure (PCI) portfolio, the Programs & Engagement Manager - PCI serves as a strategic partner to the EVP, People, Culture and Infrastructure, supporting executive communications, professional visibility, thought leadership, engagement initiatives, and executive brand development.
The Programs & Engagement Manager - PCI plays a critical role in elevating the EVP's internal and external presence through strategic communications, social media engagement, presentation development, event support, recognition initiatives, and executive relationship management. This position partners closely with executive leadership, Strategic Communications, Institutional Advancement, and key stakeholders to represent and amplify the EVP's voice, priorities, and professional brand. The Programs & Engagement Manager - PCI requires strong executive presence, sound judgment, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled communications and engagement professional who thrives in a fast-paced executive environment and excels at translating a leader's vision, voice, and priorities into impactful communications and engagement strategies. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to the EVP, People, Culture and Infrastructure, helping strengthen executive visibility through strategic communications, thought leadership, speaking engagements, industry recognition opportunities, and social media presence. The successful candidate will bring experience in executive communications, marketing, public relations, or executive support, with the ability to independently manage multiple high-profile initiatives while collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders. They will possess exceptional writing, relationship-building, and project management skills, demonstrate sound judgment and executive presence, and maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. Experience supporting senior executives, developing executive-facing content, managing social media strategies, coordinating events and speaking engagements, and elevating organizational brands is strongly preferred.
Location- This is a hybrid position with a strong on-site presence required. The selected candidate will regularly support in-person meetings, events, conferences, and speaking engagements. Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities
Executive Communications & Brand Representation
• Learn and understand the EVP's leadership style, communication approach, and personal brand
• Represent and translate the EVP's voice through communications, presentations, social media content, and engagement activities
• Draft, edit, and proofread speeches, talking points, correspondence, executive communications, articles, and meeting materials
• Partner with Strategic Communications to develop content that aligns with organizational priorities and executive messaging
• Create executive messaging for internal and external audiences
• Prepare documents and materials requested by executive leadership
• Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
Executive Engagement & Visibility Strategy
• Accompany the EVP to conferences, meetings, speaking engagements, and other in-person events to observe and accurately represent the executive's voice and brand
• Identify and evaluate national speaking engagements, conferences, awards programs, and recognition opportunities aligned with organizational goals
• Research opportunities that enhance executive visibility, thought leadership, and professional recognition
• Partner with leadership to develop strategies that strengthen the EVP's internal and external presence
• Collaborate with Institutional Advancement to prepare award nominations, applications, and supporting documentation
• Maintain calendars of award deadlines, recognition programs, and engagement opportunities
Social Media & Content Development
• Develop and manage the EVP's professional social media presence in accordance with institutional standards
• Create content calendars and engaging social media posts aligned with organizational priorities
• Develop post-event communications, including social media content, stakeholder recognition, and leadership follow-up communications
• Identify and tag relevant attendees, organizations, and stakeholders following engagement activities
• Monitor engagement metrics and recommend strategies to expand visibility and audience reach
• Plan, write, edit, and distribute executive newsletters and communications
• Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and communication standards
Event Coordination & Presentation Development
• Coordinate logistics for presentations, conferences, speaking engagements, meetings, and executive events
• Partner with executive support regarding travel arrangements, event registrations, schedules, and presentation materials
• Serve as a liaison between event organizers, internal leaders, and external stakeholders
• Ensure event requirements and deliverables are completed accurately and on time
• Prepare executive summaries to support meeting, presentation, and event readiness
• Design and develop professional presentations, slide decks, infographics, and supporting materials
• Coordinate content collection from internal subject matter experts
• Attend events, document engagement activities, capture key takeaways, and facilitate follow-up actions
Project & Relationship Management
• Manage multiple engagement, communications, and visibility projects simultaneously
• Build strong relationships with internal leaders, external partners, and professional organizations
• Track project timelines, deliverables, outcomes, and engagement activities
• Maintain databases containing leader accomplishments, metrics, testimonials, and professional achievements
• Gather information from stakeholders to support awards, presentations, recognition efforts, and executive communications
• Demonstrate increasing autonomy while partnering closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: 5 years in executive support, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related role.
Preferred: Experience managing social media platforms and content strategies.
Preferred: Marketing and communications experience, executive communications and content development, the ability to represent and translate an executive's voice and brand, strong organizational and project management skills, and a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
