Job Description

The Neuromuscular Division at Henry Ford Hospital is seeking a board eligible/certified Neurologist with additional fellowship training in Neuromuscular Neurology and/or Neurophysiology to join our multi-disciplinary team.

With 13 fellowship-trained Neurologists and one Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation/Sports Medicine Physician, Henry Ford’s Neuromuscular Program has over 20 years of experience in the medical management of neuromuscular diseases. Our seven electromyography (EMG) labs have been designated Accreditation with Exemplary Status by the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine and are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and provide expertise in single-fiber EMG and autonomic testing. We opened our 8th clinic in 2022. Our busy clinical practice completes over 10,000 visits and 4,000 EMGs annually.

As an academic program, we are active in clinical trials and neurology research. Henry Ford’s Neuroscience Institute is one of the largest and most active in the Midwest, offering the most advanced neurologic medical and surgical therapies across all the major subspecialties. This subspecialty practice position offers time for educational and other academic endeavors, including a teaching role with medical students, neurology residents, and neurophysiology fellows. This subspecialty academic practice position also offers the potential for a tenure-track academic appointment for those who qualify, through Wayne State University - School of Medicine and Michigan State University - College of Human Medicine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key duties and obligations:

• Provide comprehensive medical management and clinical care for patients with neuromuscular diseases, maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice and patient outcomes
• Opportunities to perform and interpret electromyography (EMG) and neurophysiological testing with proficiency in single-fiber EMG and autonomic testing procedures
• Fulfill teaching obligations with medical students, neurology residents, and neurophysiology fellows, maintaining rigorous educational standards
• Contribute to academic endeavors and scholarly activities consistent with the expectations of an academic medical center
• Collaborate effectively within the multi-disciplinary neuromuscular team to ensure coordinated patient care and program excellence

Qualifications

• Must have a valid medical degree
• Must have completed an ACGME/AOA approved neurology residency program
• Must have completed or are currently completing an ACGME/AOA approved neuromuscular fellowship program
