Surgery Veterinary Technician

We're looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Surgical Technician to join our surgery department. Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice that has full in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a GE 64-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound and endoscopy. MVMC is a multi-specialty hospital offering services in Emergency & Critical Care, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine. Our collaborative team of experienced emergency clinicians and criticalists enables us to provide advanced, high-quality care to a knowledgeable and dedicated client base. Veterinary Technician - Surgery Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough, ME $32.00-$38.00 per hour based on experience WHAT YOU'LL DO Assist veterinarians in advanced surgical procedures including orthopedic, soft tissue, and emergency surgeries Prepare patients for surgery, including anesthesia induction, catheter placement, and pre-operative assessments Monitor anesthesia throughout procedures, ensuring patient safety and appropriate pain management Maintain sterile technique and support surgical suite preparation and turnover Operate and maintain surgical and monitoring equipment Perform post-operative care, including recovery monitoring and patient support Accurately document anesthetic events, treatments, and surgical records Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient surgical flow and exceptional patient care Our Comprehensive benefit package includes: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with a total company match up to 4%, after 6 months of employment Generous paid time off Continuing education yearly allowance for skills development Uniform allowance Certification fees reimbursement (eligible employees only) Mental Health Resources Company paid bonding leave or applicable state provided bonding leave Perks for Your Pets Too!
