Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantTurner’s Outdoorsman is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. This position is responsible for overseeing daily cash management activities and providing leadership and oversight of the Accounts Payable and Sales Audit departments. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting efficient accounting operations. This role will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with company policies and established accounting standards. This position is based at our Rialto, California office and requires onsite attendance five days per week.Essential FunctionsDaily cash reconciliation (Match daily deposits with POS system)Work with bank and IT setting up new stores for payment processing and change ordersClear checks/handle wires -approve/return paymentsPrepare a weekly cash flow report for ManagementOversee Accounting Department and approve bi-weekly timecardsDetermine daily cash requirements and borrow and move funds, when necessary, through line of credit or money marketPrepare borrowing base certificate monthly for Wells FargoReconcile 4-5 bank accounts monthlyPrepare all office depositsLiaison between payroll functions and accountingPrepare and enter monthly journal entries for all cash transactions including payrollComplete all necessary data for monthly workers comp journal entriesComplete all data necessary to pay Federal Excise Tax and Sales tax on a monthly and quarterly basisProcess all 571L property tax statementsWork with Show Manager on show set up cash and resale certificates as neededOversee the preparation of 1099’sRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in accounting/financeProficient in Great Plains accounting softwareIn depth understanding of accounting principles including accruals, revenue recognition, in-transits, prepaids, matching theoryMinimum of 3 years of progressive leadershipExperience with ADP payrollMust be 18 years or olderAbility and SkillsMust be able to multi-task and work in a face paced environmentPossess strong data entry and calculator skillsKnowledge of zero balance accountsMust have strong computer skills specifically but not limited to MS ExcelExcellent people and telephone skillsFlexible, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organizedMust be dependable and reliableProgressive experience in full-cycle accountingExperience in the retail industry preferredPhysical RequirementsMust be able to use a computer proficiently and grasp instructions to new software programsMust be able to stand, sit for long periods of time, bend and lift throughout the course of a scheduled shiftTravel RequirementsN/AHoursMonday-Friday, 8am-4:30pmThe starting salary for this position is $70,304 annually, with opportunities for higher compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications.Turner's Outdoorsman is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
