Job Duties

• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate general ledger records.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and income statement accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial statements and management reporting.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Assist with sales tax, property tax, and other tax-related reporting requirements.
• Coordinate documentation and responses for internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and financial controls.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.
• Collaborate with leadership to support financial analysis, reporting, and business objectives.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains and advanced accounting software is a plus.

Experience Requirements

• 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial analysis.
• Experience supporting audits, tax reporting, and accounting compliance initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with all levels of management.

Physical Capabilities

• Primarily office-based work requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use.
• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 10 pounds.
• Strong visual and hearing abilities for reviewing financial data, reports, and communicating in person or by phone.
• Ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities in a professional office environment.
