Job Description The Information and Cybersecurity Department (ICD) of Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is hiring a Graduate Student Intern for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester. As part of the Information and Cybersecurity Department (ICD), the GRC Graduate Student Intern will support information security by maintaining documentation, assisting with audits/assessments, and ensuring security policies are communicated across the organization with the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team. The ideal candidate for this role is responsive to mentoring and enthusiastic in the pursuit of cybersecurity knowledge and skills. They also can respond to unfamiliar and time-sensitive situations appropriately. Required Minimum Qualifications Intern Pursuing a Master's degree in Information/Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA Part-Time Intern- Must be registered for 6+ credit hours Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, standards, guidelines, and principles Interest in information/cyber security Can communicate effectively and work independently Preferred Qualifications Experience with technical concepts including networking, software development and/or information technology systems Experience with GRC platforms and tools such as: Onspring, ServiceNow GRC, Archer, OneTrust, LogicGate, or similar solutions Experience conducting risk assessments, control testing, and security audit Experience with technical concepts including networking, software development and/or information technology systems Knowledge of third-party risk management and vendor assessment methodologiesFamiliarity with industry-recognized risk assessment and compliance frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, CMMC, FedRAMP) Technical writing experience Strong attention to detail Hours per Week 10-20 hours per week U.S. Citizenship Requirements Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens. Clearance Type Required Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance. Housing and Relocation Housing and relocation assistance are not available for this position.
