Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of recent Step-Down experience required License: Active nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac and emergency skills - Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation - IV and vascular management - Blood product administration Description: Step-Down Registered Nurse position available. The nurse will care for patients recovering from more critical illnesses. Patient diagnoses may include congestive heart failure, post-heart catheterization, post-vascular procedures, and respiratory failure requiring BiPAP or CPAP. The nurse will provide frequent vital sign monitoring and neurovascular checks. Responsibilities include the administration and monitoring of medications, including emergency medications and procedural sedation. The nurse will be involved in cardiac drip titration and management of dysrhythmias. The nurse will also assist with chest tube insertion and removal when needed. Professional skills in infection prevention, isolation precautions, and phlebotomy are required. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team. The ability to adapt and respond to changing patient conditions is crucial. This position requires a commitment to quality patient care and safety.
