Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years minimum License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Orthopedic and Trauma experience required - Experience with pre-op and post-op orthopedic patients - Familiarity with EPIC charting system Description: This position involves providing nursing care in an orthopedic unit. Responsibilities include managing both elective and trauma patients. Nurses will engage in pre-operative and post-operative care. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6, with a possible stretch to 1:7. Knowledge of orthopedic equipment such as CPM machines and knee immobilizers is essential. Candidates should understand safe patient handling equipment. All nurses will be required to pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance. Flexibility with scheduling and adherence to attendance policies is crucial. The role entails working with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic work environment and occasional float assignments.
