We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.What you’ll do:Own, design, model and deliver a novel thermal system for our Hybrid aircrafts thermal designSelect the right technology, materials and for a very complex and novel thermal systemDesign it so it’s light, performatively and cost effectiveProve that the system is as good as you think it is - through test definitionWork with stakeholders to deliver the complete systemManage design lifecycle, including interfacing with manufacturing and test teamsAttend and present your designs to stakeholdersInterface with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and stress / FEA engineersWhat you’ll need:BS / MS / PhD in a related scientific or engineering field.5+ years experience in mechanical designStrong fundamentals and demonstrated understanding complex system designExperience with stress and finite element analysisExperience with Siemens NX and suite of toolsA systematic approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate complex, technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders.Extremely self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and documents.Proficiency in PDM and PLM environmentsNice to have:Prior experience with hybrid-electric aircraft, turbegenerators, eVTOLs, or hybrid automotive powertrains.Familiarity with FAA or EASA certification Knowledge of simulation model validation, model calibration, and uncertainty quantification methodsAt Archer, we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent with the skills and leadership needed to grow our business. We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that support the Company's strategy. For this position, we are targeting a base pay range of $172,000 - $216,000.
