Tax Partner

A leading regional CPA firm in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Tax Partner to support continued growth and expansion of its tax practice. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an entrepreneurial leadership team while managing sophisticated client relationships and helping shape the strategic direction of the firm. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical tax foundation combined with leadership experience, relationship management skills, and the ability to advise closely held businesses and high-net-worth clients on complex tax matters. Responsibilities Lead tax compliance, consulting, and advisory engagements for a diverse client portfolio Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, executives, partnerships, and HNW individuals Review and oversee complex tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and individuals Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives for clients Mentor and manage tax staff, managers, and directors across multiple engagement teams Identify opportunities to expand services and strengthen existing client relationships Participate in business development initiatives, networking events, and community involvement Assist leadership with operational planning, workflow improvements, and tax practice strategy Collaborate with internal departments to deliver integrated client solutions Maintain technical expertise in federal, state, and local tax regulations Qualifications Active CPA license required 10+ years of public accounting tax experience Strong generalist tax background across multiple industries and entity types Experience managing large client engagements and supervising teams Prior leadership or partner-level experience preferred Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Preferred Industry Experience Professional Services Construction Manufacturing Distribution Hospitality Family-Owned Businesses This opportunity offers competitive compensation, performance-based incentives, hybrid flexibility, strong internal resources, and a collaborative leadership environment focused on long-term growth and succession planning. #J-18808-Ljbffr Whitman Advisory Job Community
