2nd shift (3:30 PM - 11:30 PM) - (Mon-Fri) - MANDATORY OT

Hose Coil / Pressure Test Operator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :


Hose Coiling:


Review conformance of hose while coiling on reel and cut hose as needed

1. Verify part number, hose size and job numbers based on manufacturing specifications
2. Review dimensions, tag colors and take up reel diameter
3. Inspect product of attributes (flaws) such as bony hose, broken wires, missing wires, kinked hose, etc.
4. Properly tape and cut out nonconforming sections of hose
5. Place hose scrap in proper containers
6. Record attributes (flaws) and hose scrap on Hose Coiling Inspection Sheets, update WW3
7. Measure OD, ID and pitch
8. Prepare and complete proper labeling of hose
9. Cut burst and periodic samples as required
10. Clean plug gages as needed

Pressure Test:


Operate pressure test

1. Set up test mode (proof and/or impact), jaws, mandrels, prefill, run cycle time and dump pressure (purge) according to manufacturing specifications
2. Record PSI impact on back of tag
3. Cut off hose ends and wrap with tape
4. Place tested hose in quality inspection area

Hose Coiling & Pressure Test:

1. Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5S practices
2. Know and practice all safety regulations and quality guidelines
3. Report production issues to Direct Lead
4. Perform work of an equal or lower classification

1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
2. Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
3. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
4. Other duties may be assigned at a later time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Education required:


High School diploma or GED


Experience:


Production work preferred but not required.


On the job training from 1 to 8 weeks or extend to 10 weeks if needed.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

• Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader
• Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee may be subject to:

• High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
• Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.

1. Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)
2. Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
3. Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
4. Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
