Senior Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney (6+ Years)

Location: Los Angeles or Irvine, CA Work Arrangement: Hybrid Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Compensation: $200,000-$240,000 annually, plus performance bonuses The Opportunity A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney to join its Southern California team. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated liability-policy coverage matters for domestic and international insurer clients across a broad range of industries. The successful candidate will take a leadership role on complex coverage files, manage an active caseload independently, and work within a collaborative, high-performing team with access to a global platform and substantial professional‑development resources. Practice Focus Commercial general liability coverage Construction‑related claims Energy‑sector matters Entertainment‑industry risks Maritime‑related claims Other complex liability‑policy disputes Key Responsibilities Analyze insurance policies, claims, and coverage issues Prepare coverage opinions and provide strategic advice to insurer clients Conduct detailed legal research and draft memoranda Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, correspondence, and other litigation materials Manage coverage litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution Attend and support depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings Prioritize and manage multiple sensitive, time‑sensitive matters Work collaboratively with colleagues and clients to develop practical coverage and litigation strategies Qualifications Active California Bar admission required 6+ years of complex insurance coverage litigation experience Strong commercial general liability coverage experience Federal court experience required Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and verbal communication skills Ability to independently manage an active caseload and exercise sound professional judgment Strong academic credentials Additional admission in Texas, New York, Washington, or Colorado is an asset.
