Protean Med is recruiting 2 Locum OB/GYN Physicians for summer coverage at a hospital-based program with active labor and delivery, GYN surgery, and a team that values the providers they bring in. The Role Location: Tucson, AZ Dates: June, July, and/or August 2026 flexible around your availability Providers Needed: 2 Setting: Hospital-based Labor & Delivery + GYN Surgery EMR: Epic Start: Per provider availability
Schedule
In-house: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
Beeper call from home: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
️ May need to remain in-house full 24 hours if L&D is busy or laborist coverage is unavailable
Facility will work with you on scheduling flexibility is a priority
Scope of Coverage
In-house OB and GYN coverage
Rounding and labor management
Delivery management
GYN surgery (as needed)
Full L&D support team
Candidate Requirements
BC/BE in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Active state license (details provided upon inquiry)
Temporary privileges eligibility
Clean NPDB required
OB/GYN surgical experience
Comfortable managing active L&D independently
Why This Opportunity This isn't a passive coverage role. You'll be hands-on in a real obstetric environment with surgical exposure and genuine clinical responsibility. The facility is flexible on dates and works with provider schedules making it one of the more accommodating locum setups available this summer.
