Accounting Specialist

Job Description The Temporary Part-Time Accounting Specialist supports the Accounting Department with accounts receivable, tariff reporting, customer and supplier administration, and general accounting tasks. This role requires strong accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and the ability to meet deadlines while adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic office and manufacturing environment. Responsibilities + Prepare approximately 2030 customer invoices per day and apply 510 cash receipts daily, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. + Assist with account reconciliations and respond to billing inquiries from internal stakeholders and external customers. + Create, maintain, and track tariff reports, coordinating with internal teams to gather necessary information and following up on outstanding charges. + Complete customer and supplier documentation, including setup, registration forms, and other administrative records, while maintaining organized supporting files. + Prepare miscellaneous reports, spreadsheets, and other accounting information as assigned, using Excel and other office tools. + Provide general accounting and administrative support, including assistance with month-end close activities and special projects. + Handle data entry tasks for tariff reporting and other accounting functions with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. + Support accounts payable and reconciliation activities as needed to ensure smooth accounting operations. + Perform other related duties as assigned to support the broader Accounting Department. Essential Skills + 1+ years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting. + Hands-on experience with accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, cash application, and reconciliations. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for daily accounting and administrative tasks. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data entry for tariff reporting and accounting records. + Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. + Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with internal teams, customers, and suppliers. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. + Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a busy office and manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in accounting, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or administrative support is preferred. + Familiarity with accounts payable processes and reconciliation activities. + Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP/accounting systems. + Comfort preparing reports and spreadsheets to support accounting and tariff reporting activities. + Demonstrated reliability and professionalism in a temporary, part-time role. + Flexibility to adjust to varying schedules and assignment duration based on business needs. Work Environment This role is fully onsite in Leesburg in a large office and manufacturing facility. The position is temporary and part-time, with a typical schedule of Monday through Thursday, 5 hours per day, worked during core business hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. There is flexibility to structure the 20 hours per week across 3 or 4 days, subject to discussion and agreement with the hiring team. The environment combines office-based accounting work with proximity to manufacturing operations, offering a professional setting with access to standard office technology and accounting systems. The role involves focused computer work, data entry, and interaction with internal teams in a collaborative, detail-oriented atmosphere, with an emphasis on schedule flexibility and a convenient worksite location. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Leesburg, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
