#TP139440 Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator Position available through UCSD Temporary Employment Services (TES). ASSIGNMENT DETAILS TES is hiring 2 temporary Assistant Clinical Research Coordinators. Duration: Assignments typically run for approximately 3-6 months. Compensation and Benefits: $36.31/hr, including paid holidays and vacation/sick leave. Mid-level benefits are available. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, but can vary. Location: 100% on Site. DESCRIPTION The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for: Coordinating start‑up procedures, implementation, recruitment, screening, enrollment, and maintenance of subjects. Creating informational and recruitment materials and acting as a liaison with other UCSD departments and agencies for the purpose of implementing studies. Planning, developing, and implementing start‑up procedures for multiple phase I-III research studies in an assigned disease team, leading, directing, and helping to coordinate operational efforts, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory guidelines, overseeing the quality of the medical and clinical research data, providing direction and guidance to investigators, educating the general public about ongoing clinical trials, assisting PIs with proposals, progress reports, and manuscripts, independently creating original documents and policies for assigned disease teams, and working closely with federal and state regulatory officials when indicated. At the direction of the Clinical Research Supervisor, providing training, data and chart management, quality assurance checks for studies, and backup to research center activities. Other duties assigned as needed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual English/Spanish. Experience with EPIC. Certification as a Clinical Research Associate or Coordinator. Experience working with research bulk accounts. Experience with investigational drug authorization criteria. Knowledge of MASLD research studies. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Theoretical knowledge of biology, microbiology, social sciences, and clinical sciences as typically attained by a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience performing clinical research duties in a clinical research environment. Experience using statistical software applications. Knowledge of databases, word processing, and spreadsheet applications such as Velos, Access, Excel, and MS Word. Experience with laboratory procedures and values and experience in interpreting them to determine patient eligibility and potential toxicities. Experience working with FDA policies regulating clinical trials. Experience in medical assessment and patient interviewing to determine toxicities related to protocol management. Experience interpreting medical charts and abstracting data from medical records. Knowledge of NIH, GCP, IIPP, HRPP, IATA Shipping of Blood Specimens, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Experience with clinical trials participant or study subject recruitment. Experience coordinating study start‑up activities. Experience providing in‑service training to various research personnel on protocols, processes, and procedures. Knowledge of x‑rays, scans, and other diagnostic procedures. Experience maintaining files and keeping records. Excellent planning and organizational skills and ability to work in a changing, multiple‑demand setting to prioritize a large volume of work and meet deadlines efficiently and accurately. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills (grammatically correct written English and accurate typing) to interact with a diverse population. Excellent phone etiquette skills. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. Experience completing clinical trials case report forms via hard copy and online. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse groups, including professional and non‑professional staff and clients. Experience with external clinics for educational and recruitment efforts. SPECIAL CONDITIONS Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $75,815 - $121,960 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $36.31 - $58.41 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
