HVAC Chiller Operations & Maintenance Mechanic Journeyman (union)

What you will do We are looking for a skilled Journeymen Chiller Mechanic who has worked in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional markets to join our team. Candidates should have a minimum of 5years of chiller experience, with knowledge of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and rebuilds of medium‑large tonnage chillers of all brands. Responsibilities Execute contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, and service requests for assigned primary service accounts. Recommend necessary upgrades or repairs to prolong the equipment life cycle of customers’ equipment. Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co‑workers through effective oral and written communication via phone, computer, and face‑to‑face interactions. Provide quote estimates for labor and material repairs and upgrades as needed. Serve as the direct customer contact, performing service on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment and systems at the customer’s location. Utilize cutting‑edge software, hand‑tools, rigging equipment, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair equipment. Enforce safety standards to the highest levels and maintain security and accountability of company‑issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions. Work as part of a team dedicated to delivering the highest standard of service, with flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays; participate in the on‑call rotation for a 24/7 service company. Required Qualifications Valid RedSeal Refrigeration and A/C certification. Valid ODS certification. More than 5years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional experience with all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives. Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and working proficiency with a handheld computer (i.e., Smartphone, iPad). Adherence to company safety program. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate $35.59, determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
