Front of House ManagerOld World Pizzeria is a 20-inch, New York-style counter-service pizzeria in downtown Birmingham. We are looking for a Front of House Manager who loves people, moves fast, and takes full ownership of the guest experience from the moment someone walks in to the moment they leave.You will lead the front of the house: the counter, the slice case, the dining room, catering, and the FOH team. You are not a full-time cashier, but you lead from the floor and jump in wherever you are needed, including the register and the oven during a rush.What You Will DoOversee the front counter and register, and hop on when the line needs itManage the slice case: stocked, fresh, and looking great at all timesLead the FOH team in real time: set priorities, direct staff, and adjust on the fly during rushesCoordinate catering orders from first call to pickup or delivery, working with the kitchen on timing and qualityKeep team morale and motivation high; create a fun, positive, accountable cultureHire, train, and coach FOH staff on our hospitality standardsMaintain proper staffing levels, identify scheduling needs, and build FOH schedulesGreet guests warmly and build real rapport with regularsResolve guest issues on the spot with a calm, solutions-first attitudeSupport the kitchen during rushes, including working the oven when neededOrder and track FOH supplies and keep the dining room, counter, and FOH areas clean and guest-readyHandle opening and closing, cash handling, and shift reconciliationReport shift results and issues to ownershipWhat We Are Looking For2+ years in customer-facing food service or hospitality, including supervisory or management experienceTraining from a hospitality-focused brand (Zingerman's, Chick-fil-A, Shake Shack, or similar) is a strong plusCatering coordination experience is a plusFriendly, upbeat, and genuinely energized by peopleA natural motivator who brings energy to the teamCalm under pressure and able to lead a team through a rushOrganized, with strong scheduling and follow-through skillsStrong communicator who takes initiative without being askedReliable, punctual, and team-firstComfortable on your feet for a full shift and able to lift up to 50 lbsAvailable evenings, weekends, and holidaysPizza or oven experience is a plus, not requiredWhy Join UsCompetitive hourly pay based on experienceReal growth path: high performers can advance to General Manager and beyond as we growHands-on leadership training and mentorship from ownershipBe part of the founding team at a new, locally owned Birmingham restaurantA culture built on hospitality, quality, and doing things rightStaff meals and employee discountsConsistent scheduling with full-time hours
