Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome. Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV’s, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision‑making. Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient. Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching. ** Previous Preop/PACU/ICU/Procedural experience highly preferred ** Day to Day duties: Patient education Health assessment and physical exam Clinical prep, like starting iv and administering pre op medications Verifying preoperative documentation Coordinating safety hand offs Approx 40 cases per day Weeknight and weekend call requirement OR Suites-16 PACU Bays-23 Prep Op Beds-17 Phase I & II recovered in same areas Schedule- 36hrs/ week- Days- 4x 9hr shifts- Variable start times and Days of the week per surgical volume and current unit needs. TBD during interviews with OR Manager. Call required – weeknights/ weekends and Holidays – Approx. 2-4 weeknights and 1 weekend in a 8 week schedule. 30 Min Call Back radius required Job Requirements Required Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement RN License in state of employment Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly Preferred Bachelors Degree in Nursing One (1) year experience Where You’ll Work Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St Francis Hospital – Interquest.
