Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced RN for an Oncology unit specializing in caring for cancer patients. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care, administering chemotherapy, and managing complex clinical conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Assess patient conditions, manage symptoms, and provide emotional support.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain safety standards.
• Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and expectations.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with valid certification.
• BLS, ACLS certifications required; NIHSS and Oncotherapy certification a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience preferred.
• Experience administering chemotherapy and managing immunocompromised patients.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips; competent in patient assessment.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safety procedures.
