Job Summary: The Ski Team Head Coach of Mountain Rangers oversees the Mountain Rangers program at Alpine. Athletes are aged 4-5 years old and are in a foundational ski team within Team Palisades Tahoe. This is a part-time position with availability on weekends and holidays required during the ski season. The Ski Team Head Coach contributes to the overall success of Team Palisades Tahoe in accordance with the Mission and Vision as measured by the quality of the athlete and employee experience, retention, athlete success, and parent satisfaction. This position works directly with a Department Manager or Age Class Head Coach.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $24.00-35.99 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Responsible for successful oversight and implementation of specific segment or sub-segment (gender/age/ability/etc.) of a department discipline and/or age class.

• Contribute and conform to team athletic processes and philosophies.

• Work with Manager and other Head Coaches to develop annual training plan.

• Pursues and maintains coaching certifications while engaging in continuous professional development.

• Ensure individual athlete management programs are in place and overseen.

• Be knowledgeable and stay informed on industry trends and competition and seek feedback from athletes, parents, staff and company personnel on quality of products and services.

• Be fully aware of and support the mission, vision and goals of all aspects of our program, including Alterra.

• Knowledge and execution of Department Operating Plan and Guest Experience System

• Maintain a regular on-hill presence with direct involvement with daily programming and plans, working directly with Manager or Head Coach.

• Maintain a regular office presence between on-hill programming, completing administrative and computer-based tasks.

• Participate in all staff training and meetings as required

• Assist in the management of, and hold coaches (and self) accountable to:
  - Time & Attendance Standards
  - Team and company mission/vision/values and policies
  - Performance management/performance reviews
  - Team expectations for athletic advancement
  - Use of company approved tools
  - Participation in all required meetings and trainings

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 75lbs. Must capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: This job may experience atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odor, dusts, mists, gases, ventilation. The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.

Equipment Used in Job: Hand tools, small power tools, bags or large duffels, bamboo poles, ropes and rope spools, banners, shovels, gates/poles, skis. Safety/Protective Equipment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to wear eye protection, gloves, masks, helmet

Education and Experience:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Fluent in reading, writing and communicating in English

• PSIA Level 1 or equivalent

• Prior ski coaching experience

• Prior experience working with youth

• Prior supervisory experience

• Efficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred

• PSIA Level 2 or higher relevant skiing certification

• Competition Experience as Coach and/or Athlete

A Motor Vehicle Record review may be required as part of your job.
