Position: Sterile Processing Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our esteemed team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality and teamwork while delivering exceptional sterile processing services.

Shift Information

• Shift: Mid 5x8-Hour (14:00 - 22:30)
• Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Call Requirement: No
• Floating between units: Yes - potential to float to Pacific Campus

Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 Hours per 2-week period (with the possibility of being called off for 1 shift during that period)
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years
• Certifications Required: CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA
• Locals Accepted: No

Unit Overview

The Sterile Processing Department specializes in a variety of surgical services including Neuro, Orthopedics, robotics, pediatrics, and general service lines such as Urology, GYN, and more. The team is committed to maintaining high standards and prioritizes quality above all.

Orientation Schedule

1. 3-Day Orientation on Day Shift:

• Day 1: Arrival at 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM
• Day 2 & 3: Arrival at 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM

• Day 4: Transition to contracted shift

Facility Information

• Type of Facility: Level II Trauma Center
• Total Staffed Beds: 571 total across both campuses
• Scrub Color: Any (excluding reddish orange)
• Charting System: EPIC
• Parking: Facility Paid

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the proper cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments
• Maintain knowledge of surgical supplies and case picking
• Work collaboratively with a motivated team
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in sterile processing
• Certification from CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Capacity to work rotating weekends and holidays as necessary
