Sterile Processing Technician

The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for the processing, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies. Candidates will work in a highly motivated team environment where quality is the foremost expectation. The role requires participation in rotating weekend shifts. Candidates may float to other units as necessary. The department is a teaching department, and as such, ongoing education and training will be an integral part of the position. The technician will transition to their contracted shift after initial training. Basic skills required include aseptic technique, proper selection of wrapping materials, and knowledge of sterilization processes. Experience with various surgical specialties such as neuro, ortho, and robotics is preferred. Candidates will engage in high-level disinfection, immediate-use steam sterilization, and cleaning of instrumentation. Attention to detail is critical in organizing trays and placing instruments correctly. Documentation will be completed in the designated instrumentation management systems. All agency technicians will work rotating weekends unless otherwise specified in their contract. Candidates are expected to commit to a flexible schedule that may involve additional duties as needed.
