Job Summary

We are seeking an entry-level Physical Therapist I to provide physical therapy services to a diverse patient population. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team and may provide opportunities to rotate across inpatient, outpatient, and acute services.

Must have inpatient rehabilitation experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient examinations and develop appropriate treatment goals and plans.
• Implement physical therapy interventions and conduct timely re-evaluations.
• Modify treatment goals and interventions based on patient progress.
• Complete required documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, monthly summaries, and discharge summaries.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare disciplines when appropriate.
• Educate patients, families, care partners, and medical personnel as needed.
• Recommend appropriate durable medical equipment and prepare medical-necessity documentation when required.
• Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for continued therapy and home exercise programs.
• Attend clinical conferences, rounds, in-services, and meetings.
• Maintain therapy attendance records, patient charges, and statistics.
• Participate in the supervision of Rehab Patient Care Associates, volunteers, and students.
• Provide additional patient coverage based on staffing needs.
• Attend assigned clinics.

Requirements

• 0–1 year of experience
• Current New York State Physical Therapy License
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience required
• Current APTA membership
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Strong oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• English proficiency required
