Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for recurring accounting functions. Identifies process gaps and implements improvements that reduce workarounds and rework. Compliance and Audit Coordination - Coordinates the annual financial audit and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) regulations, and Local Education Agency (LEA) reporting requirements. Maintains audit-ready documentation and serves as the primary point of contact for external auditors on operational matters. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partners with the Director of FP&A on month-end close, budget-to-actual reporting, and financial reconciliation. Coordinates with HR, off-site program leadership, and district operations to ensure clean handoffs at the seams where accounting interfaces with other functions. Builds working relationships across the district that support fiscal accountability.
