Spring Branch Independent School District Job Title: Support Specialist Classification: Paraprofessional (Clerical/Teacher Assistant) Reports To: Building Principal Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt Days: 195 Salary: See Compensation Plan for Paraprofessional/Administrative Support Staff, Pay Grade 202 Contract: None Date Revised: 11/15/2023 Primary Purpose Responsible for performing receptionist and clerical duties as related to the campus administrative offices. Qualifications/Skills Education/Certification High school diploma or equivalent. Special Knowledge/Skills Broad knowledge of MS Word. File maintenance skills Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to use personal computer and software. Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred. Experience Previous office experience preferred. Major Duties and Responsibilities Communication/Reception and Phones Respond to inquiries from patrons and staff. Serve as receptionist. Direct calls and visitors. Refer crisis calls to proper personnel. Clerical Support Assist in preparation for various reports, records and correspondence. Assist with various office duties; filing, copying materials and typing. Other Participate in cross‑training. Perform other duties as assigned. Equipment Used Computer and various office equipment. Working Conditions Mental Demands Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. This position requires regular in‑person interaction with the public. Physical Demands Repetitive hand motions. Prolonged use of the computer. Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling. Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
