Pay: $75k-$85k + bonus eligibility

Shift: 1st Shift with flexibility to support 2nd and 3rd shifts as needed. This role shares after-hours and incident response coverage with another Safety Coordinator through an on-call rotation

Position Summary:

As a Safety Coordinator, you will be the leader and champion of our safety-first culture. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the safety strategy for our facility. You will be responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, training and maintaining our health and safety programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for our employees.

Position Responsibilities:

• Implement, monitor, and maintain all workplace safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Maintain and update safety management systems, including documentation of safety concerns, corrective actions, and resolution tracking.
• Develop, improve, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and standards while ensuring all training records are accurately maintained.
• Identify employee training needs and coordinate, schedule, and deliver safety training programs to ensure compliance and competency.
• Promote a “Safety First” culture by actively improving plant safety conditions and reinforcing safe work practices across all departments.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff, including employees, leadership, vendors, and visitors.
• Build strong internal working relationships to support and reinforce company-wide safety initiatives.
• Prepare reports and supporting documentation for weekly and monthly safety and operations meetings.
• Conduct safety training sessions for both small and large groups, ensuring clear understanding of policies and procedures.
• Lead and support incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes and contributing to corrective action planning.
• Develop and support annual facility safety and health goals, tracking performance metrics such as recordable incidents, lost time cases, and days away rates.
• Assist in onboarding and training new hires in partnership with Human Resources to ensure compliance with safety expectations from day one.
• Monitor contractor compliance with facility safety and health policies and provide required safety orientation and oversight.
• Support employees in selecting and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and evaluations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Demonstrate strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall plant safety and operational needs.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• 3 – 5+ years of Safety Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrate ability to build, implement, and manage safety programs
• Strong customer service orientation
• Professional communication skills
• Must achieve and sustain OSHA standards
• Strong team player. Ability to sit, stand, grasp, reach, push, twist, climb, bend, use of keyboard and 10 keys, lift at least 50 lbs. occasionally, as required by the job.
