Loader Equipment Operator

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Schedule: Full‑Time | 40+ hours/week | Start time typically 6:30 AM (varies by job)

Pay: $25-27 per hour

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Loader Equipment Operator to join our commercial utility construction team. This role focuses on operating loaders for underground utility projects, including trenching, backfilling, grading, and material handling. You’ll work closely with foremen, laborers, and other operators to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate loaders for commercial utility construction projects
• Perform excavation for underground utilities (water, sewer, storm, and related infrastructure)
• Trenching, backfilling, grading, and material handling
• Read and interpret utility plans, grade stakes, and site markings
• Work collaboratively with foremen, laborers, and other operators
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite in compliance with OSHA standards
• Assist with general site duties when equipment is not in use

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience operating loader heavy equipment on commercial construction projects
• Proficiency operating excavators and loaders
• Strong knowledge of jobsite safety and trenching practices

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience in civil, excavation, utility, or solar construction
• Ability to read and interpret utility plans, grade stakes, and site markings

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
