Transportation Aide

Position Summary The essential function of this position with the organization is to assist the van driver with maintaining safe and comfortable transportation for assigned students to and from designated stops. Minimum Qualifications Must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate Basic skills in oral communication Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people Experience working with children Essential Functions Works with the van driver as a team to transport students to and from school safely Assists the van driver with following the student code of conduct for school transportation safety Assists the van driver and parents with loading/unloading the students and the stop Assists the van driver and school personnel with loading/unloading the student on the school grounds Position yourself on the van in a location that allows observation and assistance to all students at all times Ensures that all students are secured and, when appropriate, secure restraining devices, i.e., seatbelts, harnesses and toddler seats Security Clearance In alignment with Michigan law, if you are hired to fill a position, you will be required to submit to a criminal background check.
