Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families, all within established policies to ensure quality outcomes and patient safety.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and communicate accurate information to the healthcare team.
• Document patient care activities and quality monitoring data efficiently to support compliance with core quality measures.
• Effectively communicate pertinent patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes.
• Engage patients and families with timely communication that promotes understanding and supports health outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Adapt positively to the dynamic healthcare environment, supporting organizational mission and values.
• Incorporate critical thinking and pursue ongoing education to enhance nursing skills.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; graduation from an accredited nursing program required.

Experience

At least one year of healthcare experience preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of employment.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.

Mental and Physical Demands

Requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various physical movements such as turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, occasional encounters with hostile individuals, and minimal physical discomfort.
