Job Details Requisition #: 1664 Job Title: (Night Shift) Open Source Monitoring Specialist I Location: Rosslyn, VA Clearance Level: Secret, Must Have Clearance to Start Shift: 6:00 pm – 6:15 am, four days on/ four days off (night shift) Overview Agile Defense is looking for an Open Source Monitoring Specialist to support a federal law enforcement client’s Open Source Intelligence Program focused on detecting threats to specific people, locations, and events. The specialist will use Boolean logic, automated search tools, and other research skills to find potential threats in social media, news sites, forums, and other sources. The threats identified will be used by security and law‑forcing personnel worldwide to increase the safety of specific people, locations, and events. Responsibilities/Duties Conduct open‑source monitoring, research, and support for overseas personnel, domestic investigative offices, protection details, and external consumers. Communicate potential threats and relevant information quickly, clearly, and concisely. Utilize specialized tools and advanced search techniques to identify potential threats. Use ad‑hoc program guidance to create Boolean or other query‑language algorithms for commercial and unclassified tools. Review incoming open‑source information to assess accuracy, credibility, validity, and relevance of known media sources. Prepare preliminary referrals to other law‑enforcement, protection, or intelligence groups. Provide technical advice and guidance in the planning and execution of open‑source collection operations. Support large‑scale, multi‑national events domestically and abroad as needed. Assist training teams in the development of training modules. Education and Years of Experience Bachelor’s Degree and +1 year of experience or 5 years of experience without a degree. Required Skills Strong ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and in writing. Ability to write clearly and concisely. Ability to clearly summarize information in writing. Knowledge of internet‑based research, including Boolean logic. Knowledge of machine‑language translation methods. Demonstrated ability to learn new software. Ability to establish liaison and interact effectively with individuals at all levels. Preferred Skills Knowledge of popular and fringe social media platforms. Completed Open Source Intelligence or advanced internet research training course. Working Conditions Work is performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. Must be able to work a 12‑hour night shift from 6:00 pm – 6:15 am for four consecutive days on, four consecutive days off.
