Job Description

Applicants must be able to perform general clerical work and be proficient in the preparation of various correspondence, reports, documents, etc. Applicants must be able to work in an industrial environment, in all kinds of weather conditions. Position requires bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting. Must maintain a safe, clean, and organized workplace. Position requires strong communication skills and an ability to direct and advise others in a team environment.

Job Requirements/Responsibilities Include:

• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities
• Valid driver’s license
• Order Materials & store in the appropriate location
• Operate a Forklift and obtain certification
• Understand, follow, and enforce safety rules and processes
• Input information into computers, e-mail correspondence, research material needs and usage
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Requires outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays, and job/shift preference as determined by union agreement and seniority.

Pay and Benefits

First 12 Months of service you earn at 85% of base pay

Second 12 Months of service you earn at 90% of base pay

Third 12 Months of service you earn at 95% of base pay

After 36 months of service the 100% step rate daily wage for this position is $273.22/day.

Wage, benefits, and other duties are governed by the collective bargaining union agreement. Union Membership is required with mandatory associated membership dues. New hires will typically join the union within 60 calendar days of the first day of service.

• Eligibility for health benefits may begin as early as the first day of the calendar month that follows qualifying earnings. Spouse and dependents may be eligible for coverage.
• Covered under Railroad Retirement benefits and taxes.

Opportunity to qualify for holiday pay on up to 11 holidays specified by the agreement in any year. After 1 year, opportunity to qualify for paid sick leave and paid vacation (based on years of qualified service). Additionally, opportunity to qualify for vacation after 1 year of service.
