Solution Sales Consultant - Backup & Disaster Recovery

Job Summary

As a Sales Expert for Commvault’s "Backup Simple" solution, you will operate as a proactive, quota-carrying sales hunter responsible for independently creating, developing, and closing Commvault opportunities across North America. This role is focused on expanding Commvault adoption within SoftwareOne’s existing customer base through targeted cross-sell motions, while also identifying and winning net-new logos where Commvault can solve customer challenges around backup, recovery, cyber resilience, and data protection.

Your mission is to build pipeline through direct customer engagement, disciplined prospecting, and consultative selling; convert whitespace in strategic accounts; and consistently deliver new recurring revenue by positioning Commvault as a high-value solution for modern data protection and resilience needs.

Role & Responsibilities

• Own an individual sales number for Commvault Backup Simple across North America, with primary accountability for pipeline creation, opportunity progression, and closed revenue.
• Proactively hunt for new Commvault opportunities within existing SoftwareOne accounts by identifying whitespace, displacement opportunities, renewal events, cloud migrations, compliance drivers, and cyber resilience needs.
• Develop and execute direct prospecting plans to win net-new logos, including account targeting, outbound outreach, qualification, discovery, executive engagement, and deal strategy.
• Lead customer conversations independently, uncovering business pain, mapping Commvault capabilities to customer priorities, and driving urgency around backup modernization, recovery readiness, and data protection outcomes.
• Partner with Account Managers and solution specialists where relevant, while maintaining ownership of the Commvault sales motion from prospecting through negotiation and close.
• Build compelling business cases, deliver customer presentations, coordinate demos and proof-of-value activity, and guide customers through commercial decision-making.
• Create and manage a healthy funnel of early-stage and late-stage opportunities, maintaining accurate forecasts, next steps, close plans, and CRM hygiene.
• Use market, customer, and competitive intelligence to position Commvault effectively against incumbent providers and alternative data protection solutions.
• Engage Commvault and SoftwareOne stakeholders to remove sales blockers, accelerate deal cycles, and align resources to priority opportunities.
• Travel 30% required
