Forklift Operator

We are hiring an experienced forklift operator to work within a local Opelika business. The schedule is Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm at $17.00 per hour to start.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas using a sit-down Fork Lift.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
• Participates in quality improvement efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
• Candidate will be responsible for keeping the yard clean and organized, re-strapping brick, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years related experience or equivalent
• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods
• Forklift certified
• Acute attention to detail
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Lift and move a minimum of 70 pounds without assistance.
• Walk, bend, and climb stairs.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Wear appropriate safety equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Working outside on a yard and in a warehouse.
