Job Description

The Field Technician III supports field testing, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical power equipment. This role involves hands-on work with equipment such as circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, grounding systems, and various voltage electrical apparatus. This field-based position requires travel, overtime, strong safety awareness, and an interest in growing within the electrical testing field.

Responsibilities

• Travel locally and regionally to customer sites to support electrical testing and maintenance work.
• Assist with testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and maintaining electrical power equipment.
• Work around low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems.
• Support testing on equipment such as circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motors, PTs, CCVTs, CTs, and related apparatus.
• Use and learn testing equipment such as Ductor, Hi-Pot, power factor testing equipment, and ratio/saturation testing equipment.
• Read and reference manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Document test results, maintenance work, repairs, and field findings.
• Follow safety policies and participate in job site safety meetings.
• Identify potential hazards and communicate issues to the crew lead or Sr technician.
• Interact professionally with customers while on site.
• Continue developing technical knowledge with the goal of progressing toward NETA certification.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in the electrical power, utility, industrial, electrical contractor, or related field environment.
• Experience working hands-on with electrical systems, electrical equipment, or power distribution equipment.
• Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, or maintenance.
• Comfortable working in the field 95% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• NETA Certification or experience equivalent to NETA Certification.
• Experience in a Data Center environment is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is ideally based in Nashville but is also open to locations such as Murfreesboro, Clarksville, and Cookeville, TN. The company offers classes 2-3 times a year for NETA certification training and preparation. Pay increases and bonuses are available for passing various NETA levels. A company card is provided for hotels, per diem for travel, and a company vehicle/gas card. There are allowances for boots, prescription safety goggles, and fire retardant clothing. A cellphone and laptop are also provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Nashville,TN.
