Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, including an active Massachusetts RN license at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent Operating Room RN or perioperative nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience in a trauma hospital or similar acute care hospital setting strongly preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Flu vaccination required before the start date
• Ability to work on-site and commit to the full travel nurse assignment

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, supplies, and patients for scheduled procedures
• Support sterile technique and maintain a safe, organized surgical environment
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team
• Monitor patient condition, respond to changes promptly, and communicate clinical findings effectively
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, hospital policies, and professional standards
• Complete accurate documentation and support quality, patient safety, and infection-prevention practices
