Location: Telecommute
Duration: 6+ months Contract to Hire
Description:
- Work with application teams to implement best practices with MongoDB.
- Understand MongoDB sharding and how to choose appropriate shard keys
- Knowledge of managing a MongoDB cluster using Mongo’s OpsManager tool
- Optimization and tuning of MongoDB cluster settings
- Migrating to public cloud
- Guiding app teams on proper indexing and query tuning
- Review work intake with the development team and ensure the cluster is sized correctly based on the data size/volume requirements
- Operational activities including backup and recovery, database health checks, evaluate/plan/perform upgrades, support application releases
Required Skills:
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Self-starter
· 3+ years of MongoDB experience (administering, designing, implementing, troubleshooting)
· DBA experience in MySQL, MS SQL, Oracle, or Postgres
· Strong experience with MongoDB and communication skills.
