Assistant Branch Manager

Pay Range $22.63 - $30.17 Position Overview Assistant Branch Manager provides strong support to the Branch Manager by supervising daily activities, ensuring high‑quality customer service, coaching and developing branch staff, maintaining a focus on sales, managing compliance risks, and assisting with branch budget management. Key Responsibilities Approximately 50% of time: Assist in building a motivated, high‑performing branch team through recruitment, training, and development; conduct regular coaching and career development conversations; propose salary recommendations; support sales and service coaching of staff; develop decision‑making and business‑development skills for future leadership roles. Approximately 25% of time: Identify and establish new business relationships with consumers and small‑business customers; deliver solutions through needs‑based conversations; refer customers to business partners; own resolution of customer issues and complaints with an elevated level of responsiveness and satisfaction. Approximately 15% of time: Provide supervisory oversight of branch operations, compliance, and risk; manage profitability by overseeing FTEs, fee waivers, and budget items; ensure team understanding of information security and fraud risk. Approximately 5% of time: Represent the bank in the local market and participate in civic and community organizations. Remaining time: Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Education: 4‑year college degree or equivalent retail, retail banking, or financial services experience. Experience: 3 years of retail banking experience preferred; business development and outside sales experience preferred. Skills and Abilities: Excellent listening and communication skills; strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer‑relations skills; ability to function in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment; leadership and decision‑making/problem‑solving skills; PC proficiency. Certification: NMLS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire. Physical Requirements Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers. Stationary approximately 50% of time. Move about within or between locations. Bend, twist, crouch, squat. Move objects up to 20 lbs.
