Machinist 1 (set-up and operator) Regular Full Time Aero Eng & Mfg_Anaheim, Anaheim, CA, US 30+ days ago Requisition ID: 1026 Salary Range: $28.00 To $33.00 Annually Job Summary The CNC Machinist is responsible for operation of 3 and 5-axis Milling machines. Applicant must be able to setup and operate milling machines used for the fabrication of Spacecraft and Aerospace parts to a high degree of competency. This includes entering and running CNC programs, monitoring tool life and cutting quality. Paying close attention to machining during production to insure consistent, high-quality parts. It is critical that the employee have a good sense for fabrication to minimize risk Job Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC milling machines Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and work instructions. Conduct in-process inspections to ensure parts meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. Use hand tools (e.g., grinders, chisels, saws) and lifting tools (e.g., cranes, forklifts, hand carts) safely and effectively. Complete jobs according to production schedules and deadlines. Adhere to ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system requirements. Edit and optimize CNC programs at the machine to improve cycle time, surface finish, and tool life. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of management to meet operational needs. Requirements: Knowledge of tooling, setup, program validation, and machine recovery. Strong problem-solving skills applied to a wide range of production challenges. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints , specifications and shop aid sketches Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in a machining role. WORKING CONDITIONS Productivity : Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction. Mobility : Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and standing for prolonged periods of time. Vision : Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others. Environment : Typical manufacturing shop floor conditions, directly working with Manufacturing management team and external customers. Other Factors : Typical hours worked are Monday - Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 03:00 p.m. Incumbents are currently required to work occasional extended hours and weekend overtime, as applicable by law. Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Often required; reach with hands and arms; and stoop. Occasionally required to; climb or balance; kneel, crouch , or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
