Our organization is currently seeking a full-time faculty member to enhance our Infectious Diseases Division within the Department of Internal Medicine. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Infectious Diseases.

As a faculty member in Infectious Diseases, you will engage in hospital consultations, clinic duties, and educational activities for residents and students. There is potential to focus on specific areas of interest based on your background and experience. Faculty members will share weekend and holiday on-call responsibilities equally. We encourage applications from both Fellows in training and experienced physicians.

The Infectious Diseases Division plays a significant role in resident education, with some faculty also actively involved in teaching medical students. Instruction will include bedside teaching for MS3 and MS4 students, as well as classroom sessions for MS1 and MS2 students covering subjects such as Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, and Pharmacology. If your contributions to basic science education are substantial, we can arrange protected time for these activities through a collaborative agreement with the Office of Medical Student Education.

• 90% clinical duties and 10% stewardship responsibilities

• Teaching opportunities include:
• Core Curriculum lectures for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship
• Interactive learning for junior medical student clerkships
• Global Health/Tropical Medicine elective for senior medical students
• Internal Medicine elective for senior medical students
• Electives and formal learning sessions for Internal Medicine Residents, including journal clubs and case presentations
• Presentations during Grand Rounds
• Epidemiology lectures at the School of Public Health
• Community and public information lectures

Faculty members in the Department of Medicine are encouraged to pursue academic interests through teaching and research, as well as provide care to underserved populations through partnerships with local health systems and clinics in the region. The setting: Our organization is affiliated with a prominent medical center and school of medicine, dedicated to delivering comprehensive care at a high standard of clinical excellence. The medical center serves as the primary tertiary referral source for Riverside and San Bernardino counties, catering to a population of nearly 4 million.

This medical center and children's hospital is a major Level I Trauma Center, covering a four-county area that constitutes about 25% of the state. With over 850 licensed beds, it provides a dynamic clinical and educational environment, offering opportunities for general medical and global health education. Alumni from our medical school have a rich history of international service, and the institution is connected with various global service sites.

Loma Linda is recognized as the only Blue Zone in the United States, characterized by a family-friendly atmosphere and a strong commitment to health and wellness. Located in Southern California between Los Angeles and Palm Springs, this area, known as the Inland Empire, offers easy access to beaches, skiing, hiking, and numerous outdoor activities. The starting base compensation for this position ranges from $240,000 to $290,000, adjusted according to years of experience and faculty rank. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity incentives and is subject to departmental compensation plans.
